Strategic Asset Management (SAM)
- Updating lifecycle models to reflect actual work delivered and/or price changes.

Key Responsibilities
Data and Asset Management
- Updating lifecycle models to reflect actual work delivered (and prices) on site.
- Pricing lifecycle impact of variations.
- Develop a working knowledge of the SAM team’s asset management software including data management and uploading processes.
- Work with Intelligence team to update and manage data maintenance process, update lifecycle models, plans and dashboards from data in Microsoft Excel and other software systems.
- Management/oversight of procurement of lifecycle and variations works (delivered by sub-contractors), as the client representative undertake contract administration and project coordination.
Operational Delivery
- General assistance to Service Leaders (Lifecycle/Asset Managers) during the delivery of the SAM operational service (around the annual cycle of; condition survey, lifecycle 12 month and 5-year planning, work package procurement/tracking).
- Prepare professional client reports and dashboards to a high standard on progress against SAM deliverables.
- Work with the team to update the SAM lifecycle profile through data maintenance.
- Work with the project teams to track progress against the lifecycle plan including status of the budget against orders placed and invoices received.
- Review contracts to clarify responsibilities.
- Gather portfolio understanding of asset performance and advise on product selection in the delivery stage.
- Identify asset issues which may affect asset value on other projects in the broader Vercity portfolio and share information using available resources where agreed with Client.
- With support, work with strategic providers on new products, innovation and best value solutions which generate whole-life benefits.
Technical and Commercial
- Collating information from Vercity’s projects and the industry to develop and maintain up to date and robust cost information.
- Support the team in identifying ways to reduce costs across the portfolio.
- Feed into the library of information on asset elements including liaison with strategic providers on product types, costs and activity cycles.
- Identify new business opportunities for the SAM team and Vercity.

Experience
Essential
- Knowledge of quantity surveying or lifecycle costing, project management and asset management principles.
- Experience of interpreting information and undertaking analysis of information from differing sources to formulate a conclusion.
- Experience of picking out key information and reporting it in a timely manner.
- Understanding of lifecycle and whole-life costing principles.
- Experience of working in the built environment.
- Experience of working with, updating and extracting lifecycle modelling data from a software program.
- Experience with developing robust lifecycle cost plans.
Desirable
- Consulting experience.
- Experience of utilising reporting tools.
- Building strong working relationships with other stakeholders whilst ensuring that the best interests of the projects are promoted and maintained.
- Experience with web based (database) software platforms.

- The post holder has an academic qualification in a quantity surveying, building surveying, engineering, asset management, facilities management or related discipline to at least Degree level or equivalent.
- The candidate should hold/or be actively working towards a professional qualification in quantity surveying, building surveying, engineering, facilities management or similar.
