Vercity achieve National Centre for Diversity Accreditation
In September 2020 Vercity decided to raise the bar on improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across the organisation.
Vercity partnered with the National Centre for Diversity (NCfD) to launch a 2-year action plan to improve EDI. The initial review by NCfD assessors confirmed we were starting from a strong position when benchmarked externally.
This initiative led to the adoption of the FREDIE Principles (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement) and the establishment of a FREDIE Steering Group chaired by our HR Director. The FREDIE Action Plan was also aligned to deliver the Investors in Diversity accreditation.
Despite being early in our journey, following an extensive audit by NCfD – Vercity has just been formally awarded the Investors in Diversity accreditation. The company has also been ranked in the Top 50 Most Inclusive Workplaces in the 2021. We are delighted with this external recognition and will be spurred on to continue to improve across all aspects of this domain.
“We are delighted that Vercity have conditionally achieved the Investors in Diversity Award, and I would like to extend our congratulations to their leaders, staff and customers on their success to date.
Achievement of the Investors in Diversity Award demonstrates that an organisation has not only committed to building a culture of fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement (FREDIE), it also shows that it can evidence this. I have no doubt that they will continue to make progress as they continue their journey.”
