Vercity Combines Asset Management and Technical Consultancy
Vercity merges its Strategic Asset Management (SAM) team with its Technical Consultancy Operations following the departure of a key director.
With the firm for nine years, Mark Cade, Vercity Consultancy’s strategic asset management director, will lead the restructured team. Mark previously worked as a national policy coordinator for the Green Party, and before that, as an associate at WSP.
The prompt for change was the departure of Alan Gravatt, who had led the SAM team for the past two and a half years.
“Whilst the exit of Alan is a sad moment for Vercity, it has provided the opportunity to re-evaluate the SAM offering and reflect back on its origins which was taking the best practice from the asset management teams of some of Vercity’s major projects and focussing it outward to Vercity clients,” said Cade.
“Within Vercity, the SAM and technical teams developed along parallel business paths, interfacing as necessary but not routinely. The opportunity presented by the loss of a key figure was to reassess the two teams, and a look back to the roots of both, to bring the benefits back together for the future.”
Under the new structure, the SAM team integrates asset management with technical specialisms, facilities management advisory and clean energy workstreams. The firm said that this enables asset decision-making to be routinely based on “a true strategic basis.”
