The Strategic Property Advisory (SPA) team helps clients solve complex real estate and portfolio challenges and unlock value from their assets. Our work spans strategy development, operating model design, portfolio rationalisation, asset repositioning and investment planning across public and private sector clients.
We combine property expertise with management consulting skills, working collaboratively with clients to turn data and insight into clear, practical strategies and delivery plans. Our work is varied, fast‑paced and highly client‑focused.
As a Consultant, you will manage day‑to‑day project workstreams, own key deliverables and play a hands‑on role in delivering high‑quality advice to clients. You will work closely with senior colleagues while building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
This is a delivery‑focused role with exposure to strategy, analysis, client engagement and business development.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Client Work
- Manage project workstreams day to day, taking ownership of scope, outputs, quality and deadlines
- Deliver high quality client outputs, such as strategies, business cases, delivery plans and recommendations
- Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to turn data into clear insights
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, optimise portfolios or increase return on investment
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies
- Ensure clear reporting, information management and communication throughout projects
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Communicate confidently with a wide range of audiences, adapting style and approach as needed
- Facilitate discussions and workshops to identify issues, test ideas and shape solutions
- Develop a reputation as a reliable and proactive advisor
Value Creation & Problem Solving
- Diagnose complex business and property challenges
- Develop practical, evidence based solutions and recommendations
- Think strategically while remaining focused on deliverable, real world outcomes

Given the evolving nature of the Strategic Property Advisory service, responsibilities and scope may adapt over time to meet emerging client and business needs.
This job description is intended to reflect, in outline, the responsibilities of the post-holder which may change over time with the Corporate and local business needs of Vercity and the particular PFI contract. It will therefore, be subject to periodic review.
Person Specification
Experience and Competencies
Essential
Experience in a consultancy or advisory environment (property, strategy, transformation, programme management or professional services)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in authoring strategic reports and business cases
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to time and quality requirements
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with financial and non‑financial data
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop clear, evidence‑based recommendations
- A proactive, self‑starting approach with a strong sense of ownership
- Comfortable working in a developing service environment, where priorities may evolve and ways of working are still being shaped
Please note, this role may require occasional travel to client sites across the UK
Key Skills
Desirable
- Experience working with local authorities or public sector clients
Knowledge of property, development appraisals, construction or asset management - Good presentational and communication skills
- Strong intellect and desire to succeed, focused on delivery and success
- Strong commercial edge but with a sensitivity to client needs and requirements
- Highly effective and inclusive team member who can promote collaboration in a commercially optimal fashion
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (PPT, Word & Excel)
- Relevant qualification(s); a degree in management, strategy, real estate or business would be beneficial
- Relevant professional qualification(s): a chartered member of the RICS or other professional bodies is desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal development ensuring up to date continuous knowledge of legislative and statutory changes
